Laurel Play Gardens is looking for a dedicated Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team! In this role, you’ll work closely with lead teachers to implement our play-based curriculum, helping children build essential skills and prepare for kindergarten. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere where every child can thrive emotionally, cognitively, and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and implementation of creative, developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Support lead teachers in using storytelling, crafts, music, and hands-on activities to teach key skills.
• Aid in fostering social-emotional learning and conflict resolution among children.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment that encourages exploration.
• Support lead teachers in tracking developmental milestones and communicating with parents.
• Collaborate effectively with co-teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and positive classroom experience.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and licensing regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher or Assistant Teacher is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and early education principles.
• Good classroom management and communication skills.
• CPR Certification (preferred).
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• CDA or other teaching credentials (preferred).

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position with an expected 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday on 8-hour shifts.
