12+ ECE Units and Licensed Childcare Experience Required

Laurel Play Gardens is seeking an experienced early childhood educator to join our preschool teaching team in San Jose.
About the Role
As a Preschool Teacher you will create a nurturing and engaging classroom where children can explore, build relationships, develop independence, and prepare for kindergarten.
We value teachers who bring sound judgment, warmth, consistency, creativity, and a strong understanding of early childhood development to their classroom.
What You’ll Do
- Lead developmentally appropriate, play-based classroom experiences.
- Create meaningful opportunities for learning through art, music, play, and language.
- Maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations.
- Support children’s social-emotional development and positive behavior.
- Observe children and respond appropriately to their individual needs.
- Build professional and respectful relationships with families.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and licensing-compliant classroom.
- Work collaboratively with fellow educators and school leadership.
Required:
- 12 or more completed ECE units/credits.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and practice.
- Experience working directly with preschool-aged children in a classroom setting.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Reliable transportation to San Jose, CA 95126.
Preferred:
- Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
- California Child Development Teacher Permit.
- Lead-teacher experience.
